Horseback Riding at Cades Cove Riding Stables

Cades Cove Riding Stables in Cades Cove, TN offer vacationers to the Smokies some of the most pristine scenery in the entire Great Smokies National Park, while on horseback. The stables in Cades Cove, Tennessee are the only Smoky Mountain riding stables allowed to horseback ride into the national park.

Horseback Riding at Cades Cove Riding Stables does not accept reservations so make sure to arrive early to get on the next trail ride.

Cades Cove Riding Stables doesn’t like to hurry the process of getting acclimated to your horse or the ride itself. You will receive an orientation by your guide before the hour trail ride through Cades Cove begins. Each ride has a maximum 9 riders.

Along your ride, your guide will point out wildlife such as white-tail deer or maybe even a black bear. You’ll cross a mountain stream and wind through the woods, enjoying the beauty of the surrounding landscape.

Carriage Rides at Cades Cove Riding Stables

How about a 30-45 minute horse-drawn carriage ride, allowing you leisurely take in the beauty of the park. Like the horse rides at the Cades Cove stable, the carriage rides are limited to a maximum 6 passengers. Again, reservations aren’t taken, so arrive in time to make the next ride.

Your guide will point out the native plant and animal life. You will get insights to the rich ecosystem and history of the East Tennessee Smoky Mountains and its early settlers.

Hayrides at Cades Cove Riding Stables

Cades Cove Riding Stables offer a hayride in the fall. You will follow the Cades Cove Loop and take in the beautiful surrounding mountains, fields, and preserved homestead sites.

Your tour guide will be a park ranger. Hear about the history of the early settlers – from religion to recreation, farming to family life. This is a 1 1/2 hour to 3 hour tour of the park. The tours are from 15-65 occupants.

Hayrides are only available at Cades Cove Riding Stables from March to the end of May as well as from August to the close of the season. Cades Cove Riding Stables does accept reservations for hayrides for groups of 15 or more with a 50% deposit.
