Dollywood parks offer an amazing experience and escape into the Great Smoky Mountains with thrilling rides, a water park, food and the high-energy entertainment and expert craftspeople. Like other popular amusement parks, Dollywood can be crowded and require a part of your vacation budget. Keep reading for ideas to save.

Dollywood covers 150 acres and has more than 40 world-class rideshigh-energy entertainmentaward-winning dining and the “friendliest park atmosphere in the world.” The park won Friendliest Park at Amusement Today’s annual Golden Ticket Awards for seven years in a row in 2018.

Everyone loves a discount. A good idea is to follow the Dollywood Facebook page and  Dollywood Fanatics. The Dollywood Fanatics page shares promo codes when they find them. Watch for deals at local restaurants and retailers.

Dollywood often partners with Coca-Cola to offer some sort of discount on tickets. These bottles can be found in grocery stores throughout Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg.

Dollywood offers a 30% discount for military and their families with proper identification.

Dollywood offers senior pricing for those 62 years or older.

AAA members can save up to $5 per ticket. Members can redeem the offer on the AAA Website.


Take the trolley.

Park your car for free at Patriot Park in Pigeon Forge and ride the Pigeon Forge trolley. The trolley is $2.50 per person. The trolley will drop you off at the main gate of Dollywood. You can walk to the main entrance or wait for the tram to pick you up.

Your tickets will be emailed to you so you can avoid long lines at Dollywood. You can also buy a gold pass. You get a full season with perks like free parking, and discounts on food and merchandise. Three visits will cover the cost of a gold season pass.

Each Saturday is early entry for a season pass holder.

Choose Less Crowded Days

If you’re looking to see smaller crowds in the summer, visit on Wednesday or Thursday. In the fall and winter season, weekdays are best. In the spring, Thursdays are a good choice.

In the summer months, it’s good to get a TimeSaver Pass. You’ll can schedule rides, get alerts when to arrive and then skip to the front of the line. TimeSaver devices first-come, first-served basis and are limited daily at $35 per person. TimeSavers are for the theme park and/or the water park.

If you buy a 2 or 3 day pass, you have 5 days to use the passes.

Eat before you go.
Outside food and snacks aren’t permitted, but you can keep snacks in your car. Go to your car for a picnic and then return, but make sure to get stamped before leaving the park.
